The concert box office in Stift Melk, including the service center, is located in the first courtyard on the right and is open during the Internationale Barocktage Stift Melk on Friday from 5:30-8:00pm, Saturday and Sunday from 9:00am-10:30pm and Monday from 8:30am-7:30pm. The ticket office for the >Baroque Days for Children< opens one hour before the concert begins. Available tickets will be sold at the evening/day box office for a surcharge of EUR 2.Admission is granted from 20 minutes before the start of the performance (deviations are possible for artistic reasons). In order to allow the audience an undisturbed concert experience, late arrivals will only be admitted during the interval or during one of the applause breaks as instructed by the audience service.

Arrival and departure to and from most concerts is possible by train. From the train station, you can either walk (approx. 15 minutes) or take a cab to Stift Melk.
From June 6 to 9, there is a night connection to Vienna at 11:40 pm and a connection to Linz at 11:21 pm

Melk Abbey - 3390 Melk - Abt-Berthold-Dietmayr-Straße 1
From Vienna or Linz
Travel time approx. 60 minutes
- Highway A1, exit Melk
- Take the second exit from the traffic circle onto the Melker Bundesstraße (B3a) in the direction of Melk. Drive 1.7 km.
- Keep right and take the bypass (B1) in the direction of Melk Nord/Pöchlarn/Schönbühel/Wachau Rechtes Donauufer/Industriegebiet. Drive 313 m.
- Turn right onto the bypass (B1) in the direction of Pöchlarn/Melk-West/Stift Melk. Drive 165 m.
- Take the third exit from the traffic circle onto Dietmayrstraße in the direction of Melk Abbey. After 898 m you will reach the large abbey parking lot.
From the left bank of the Danube (Wachau, Waldviertel)
- Federal road B3/B3a over the Danube bridge - follow the signs to “Melk Abbey”

Parking is available in the >Großer Stiftsparkplatz< (Stiftsstraße, chargeable). Access to Stift Melk from there is via a staircase or a walkway or barrier-free via an elevator. If you are unable to use the >Großer Stiftsparkplatz< due to health reasons, you can drive to the >Wirtschaftshof< or the ›Kleiner Stiftsparkplatz‹ (Abt-Berthold-Dietmayr Straße 1, 3390 Melk, a junction of Wiener Straße). At the barrier, please ring the bell at >Stiftspforte<. Please let us know when you purchase your tickets if you require this option. We ask for your understanding that the vehicle must be reparked after accessing the >Wirtschaftshof<.
Visitors to the Internationale Barocktage Stift Melk can park at the >Großer Stiftsparkplatz< for a reduced price of EUR 2 per exit and the parking ticket must be validated at the Internationale Barocktage Stift Melk box office during opening hours. The parking ticket must therefore be validated before the concert.

The Internationale Barocktage Stift Melk strive to organize the festival in such a way that barrier-free and uncomplicated access for all people is guaranteed. As our events take place in historical venues, this is unfortunately not always possible. If you have any questions about accessibility or special requirements regarding your seat, please contact our ticket office in good time. This will enable us to organize your visit individually, from arrival to seat allocation.

There are areas in Stift Melk where access cannot be made barrier-free. However, with the help of the Stift Melk staff, it is possible to visit all areas open to tourists and included in the admission price via other routes - most of which are not accessible to the public. Please contact the staff at the information desk (first courtyard on the left) if you have a wheelchair user or severely disabled person in your group.Kaiserstiege / access to the Collegiate Museum: stairs, barrier-free via elevator (please ring the bell)
Library: spiral staircase leads into the church, barrier-free via elevator (not directly at the spiral staircase, please inform the supervisor)
Exit from the collegiate church: via Kolomanihof, barrier-free via cloister (please inform the supervisor)
Barrier-free access is available in the Nordbastei and the Stiftsrestaurant.
Other venues:
The baroque garden pavilion is only accessible via a staircase. The concert hall in the historic Pielach Castle is only accessible via stairs. The parish church offers barrier-free access. -
The Association of Friends of Wachau Culture Melk and the students of the Stiftsgymnasium will be treating concertgoers in the interval area in front of the Kolomanisaal. The buffet is open at all concerts taking place in the Kolomanisaal one hour before the concert begins, during the breaks and after the events. During the Whitsun holidays, a small, special praline is available: the Schmelzerwürfel. The Melk-based bakery & confectionery Mistlbacher produces this exclusively for the Internationale Barocktage Stift Melk. The Petit Four is named after the composer and violinist Johann Heinrich Schmelzer.
There is no buffet service after the evening concerts. Drinks are offered in the Baroque cellar before and after the concerts and, if necessary, during the breaks (except >Baroque Days for Children<). On the grounds of Stift Melk you will also find the café in the garden pavilion (open until 6:00pm) and the abbey restaurant (opening hours at stiftsrestaurant-melk.at), which will be happy to cater for your physical well-being during the Baroque Days.

For many years, guests at the Internationale Barocktage Stift Melk have been enjoying wines from Jamek and delighting in the traditional winemaker's new and tried-and-tested creations. Since 2014, the Jamek Winery and the Internationale Barocktage Stift Melk have presented an exquisite festival wine every year. The net proceeds benefit the concerts of the Internationale Barocktage Stift Melk.Concluding with wine
After the evening concerts, Stift Melk and the Internationale Barocktage Stift Melk invite all concert-goers to a cozy get-together with a glass of wine. The traditional finale takes place after the concerts in the Kolomanisaal in the Wirtschaftshof, after the concerts in the Abbey Church in the Prälatenhof and during concerts in the Abbey Park in the same. In the event of bad weather, the finale is moved to the baroque cellar.
